it seems i should have read the prior reviews on this product as
it also lost it's whistle within about a week.
after replacing, it continued to fall out after each use.
i picked a new one up at big lots for half the price with no
problems. i really wouldn't recommend this product.

Inside chipped in less than a month July 20, 2010

I have had this teapot less than a month. On the inside I can see a spot where it is already chipped and I can see the red enamel. Not pleased and I do not know if it is still safe to use. Futhermore the sound of the whistle makes my dogs run. It sounds like a space ship taking off. Still searching for that perfect whistling kettle...

I read the other reviews before purchasing and though I was concerned about scratches, etc. I bought it anyway. I love it! The color is beautiful, perfect for my "apple" kitchen. It is very lightweight, which I thought would be a problem since my other teapots were heavy and I thought they were supposed to be; however, it is very sturdy, heats water quickly, and keeps the water hot on a warm burner for hours. I wash it after every use and have no scratches or marks to the surface (my husband is not very careful with it and so far no scratches from him either). The whistle is perfect. I can hear it upstairs, but it's not an obnoxious whistle, just enough to remind me. I think its a great product - no defects at all with mine - and am planning to purchase two more in other colors for Mother's Day gifts.

I am not happy with this product. After a few uses I have noticed black spots forming on the kettle. It seems the paint has come off.

A great buy for a larger capacity whistling tea kettle. Very well built, has a nicely balanced handle, nice tight lid, and stainless steel quality. The spout cover is easy to open and the whistle prevents boiling over.
