Product Description
51472 Features: -Capacity: 2 Quarts. -Stainless Steel Finish. -Copper Bottom. About Paula Deen Paula Deen's culinary career began in June 1989 out of her kitchen with the Bag Lady, a home-based lunch delivery service in Savannah. The bag lady was extremely successful and soon outgrew her kitchen. On January 8th, 1996 she opened her own restaurant, The Lady & Sons, in downtown Savannah. In 1999, USA today named the Lady & Son's the ''International Meal of the Year''. In 1997, Deen published her first cook book, The Lady & Sons Savannah Country Cookbook. As luck would have it, a major publishing company house picked it up when one of their literary agents walked into the restaurant to escape a rainstorm. Shortly after that, Deen's cookware was appearing on QVC. In the next few years Paula published many more cookbooks. ''Paula's Home Cooking'' premiered on the TV Food Network on November 16th, 2002. The program features Deen doing what she does best-being herself, teaching people how to bring joy into their kitchens and homes. With Deen it is about teaching viewers to bring out the best in their families and creating happy memories no matter what the budget is. In Fall 2006 Deen launched her second program, ''Paula's Party'', on the Food Network. She invites guests to participate in her cooking classes. Viewers get an inside look at what makes Deen so special- her clever wit, her jovial laugh and shear genius at making people feel good.

2 out of 5 stars My new kettle   April 13, 2010

Delivery was quick but I was a bit disappointed with the product. It did not look like the photo, with that design on the side as seen in the picture. That's what attracted me to the kettle in the first place.

5 out of 5 stars Paula's Teakettle from Amazon   January 9, 2010

The Paula Dean name certainly helped me make the choice of this product (tea kettle) and the desire for a whistling one cinched it. It arrived on time for Christmas gift giving and was an immediate hit. The copper bottom was another selling point and I find it easy to clean and maintain. The handle is comfortable and easy to use. Overall an excellent product!

4 out of 5 stars Whistle Fell Out But Otherwise Fine   November 6, 2009
MMR (Los Angeles, CA United States)
I enjoyed using this kettle but after four months the whistle insert fell out of the lid. It had apparently been glued or otherwise attached and could not be re-attached or snapped back in so I had to return the item. But it worked well otherwise and is a nice looking item. The only other "issue" is that I also warn users to be very careful when they open the spout to pour the water. No matter how careful you are a small drop or two of hot water will pop out and it burns! I became very proficient at opening it to avoid that. And if I didn't really need a whistle it would have been fine without one.

4 out of 5 stars Works nice, but could use some improvement   February 7, 2009

I think this teakettle was designed a bit nicer than the other brand kettle with the copper bottom. After using it a while, it doesn't seem to get calcium build up much, but then again it's hard to tell to look inside the pot. I wish there was an easier way of filling up the pot to the proper max water level. If you overfill too much, the whistle won't work, it will just boil water out. Maybe a center cap to open to see the water level, and clean inside. Otherwise I have to lay the pot on the stove and see if the water is below the bottom of the spout. It does boil very quick with the copper bottom compared to an older keattle we had, with no metallic taste.
