I originally chose this kettle because it didn't have a ridiculous loopy handle, and the spout opens with a button in the handle. The good this about the kettle were... it's shiny, it boils water and whistles, and the button works. BUT, it arrived dented (with absolutely NO damage to the shipping box), it's very lightweight for the size, the seams don't match up on the cheap plastic handle, the handle was chipped around a screwhole, the handle got very hot when boiling water, and the inside of the kettle (and water boiled in it) smelled like a new vinyl shower curtain regardless of how often I rinsed it out. Just a low, low quality item all around. I was kind of pissed off when I called the vendor for an RA number, which they refused to give me, instead entering a UPS claim on my behalf. However I got an email the next day that the vendor had refunded me the purchase price plus shipping. Just an overall frustrating ordeal.

After using a series of cutesy little tea kettles, I came back to the old stand-by with the reliable handle and easy press valve opener. Probably should have gotten the larger one, but this one will work just fine. Looks like the one that always sat on my mother's stove.
