 Aroma stainless steel kettle is great August 8, 2010

We purchased this kettle for our office, which has approx 15 staff members. We absolutely love it. It heats up quickly, makes the water REALLY hot and is attractive in appearance. Easy to clean, sits nicely on the base.

Nice build Kette.Looks nice in the kitchen. That's all I can say positive about it.
When buying it I was concern about the two plastic inserts you can watch the water lewel through. Unfortunatelly I was right.
After 5 days of usinig this kettle I decided to return it to the store. That water taste is not acceptable.
It won't go away. Therefore this product is useless. Your tea will get this plastic, ugly taste and smell. I should read
others opinions. Please avoid this product.

I saw the reviews for the Aroma AWK-115S Hot H20 X-Press 1-1/2-Liter Cordless Water Kettle and had high hopes for this model. I liked the design when I saw it in the store and it seemed well built - sturdy, nice lid size, attractive, and easy to see water levels. However, I was very disappointed when I got it home. It had a foul plastic odor that would not rinse out and that transfered to the water it boiled. I cleaned the unit and ran it through a dozen boil cycles but it still smelled bad. I am not willing to drink any water that comes out of this thing. The whole reason I am interested in a stainless kettle is so it won't change the flavor of the water, but I've had better luck with the all plastic models than this one. So I returned it and am going to try out the Aroma AWK-115S which seems to have less plastic in proximity to the water.

Just received the Aroma Kettle today and have already boiled 3 full pots to the max. capacity (64oz.+). Full boil in 9 minutes, which is great for that volume of water. I didn't feel it was noisy at all. Quieter than our $20 earlier version that lasted under a year.
