The kettle worked for a few weeks, then it stopped shutting off automatically, then the lid started popping open. It now requires continuous supervision to boil water.

I was surprised to see only three previous reviews, none positive.
We have owned this item for over a year. It was purchased to replace yet another stove-top tea kettle that had been "forgotten" until it boiled away the water and started to get dangerously hot. Therefore the auto-turn-off feature was the most important one for us.
This feature has never failed to work on our model. There have also been no leaks or other integrity issues. It has heated the water to boiling for a range of volumes of liquid.
The only reason I have not given it five stars is that not having experience with other products of this type, I don't know whether some truly superior choices in this price range exist out there.

The kettle I purchased has leaked water through the water level gauge since day one. It is now so bad that I am about to discard the kettle. I would not recommend this kettle.

Have bought two now (from a different store)and both have leaked water through the water level indicator, which seems to be just glued into the kettle housing. Not impressed, definately will not buy again, as in this case I don't think third time lucky will exist!
