pot died November 11, 2008 bobbyblades (new york) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
got some water on top of keypad while filing , died on the spot
you figure it would have some kind of protection from water spilage or steam
i opened it up an found the electroincs all exposed should have better protection from moisture infiltration
cust service took weeks to even reply my inquiry
no repair centers on east coast??
Not very reliable in the long run October 29, 2008 Warren Johnson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I,ve had three of these (counting repacements)in as many years. After about a year they tend to go into contiuous boils and steam off all the water.
Looks nice, but pump doesn't work right July 26, 2008 K. Liu (Greenwood Lake, NY United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this product before I could find any significant negative reviews about it. While it looks really nice and does the job of heating up the water, the electric dispensing operation doesn't work most of the time. It works well when the item is full, but from 3/4 downwards, it starts to cavitate and is almost as it it is trying to pull liquid from a straw with a hole in it. I would have to repeatedly hit it and let go to get it working right...often 10-15 times.
Forget about getting any hot water with the pump when it's down to 1 liter - I find myself tilting the entire unit over just to get any hot water. I might as well have gotten a 2 liter water heater which dispenses properly.
In fact, it is a great item ! June 1, 2008 Enoc Chen (Los Angeles) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
From 2 previous reviews "Absolutely agree with ItsRachel" that does bring my concern on this item. However it is a such attractive appearance and function at this price range. Also I did not find negative feedback on another online store on this item, so I decided to order one for a try.
But ItsRachel's experience did help me on the preventive cleaning. I believe those strong odor is from oil residue left from stainless metal process. I wipe the bottle with dry paper tower inside out then wipe with wet vinger paper tower . Boil the whole bottle water overnight, I throw the hot water out next morning.
I have been using this water boiler for a week now, I have to say "go buy this one now, you won't regret later". It is in fact a great item at this price.
Hot needs February 18, 2008 Priority:Practical (Rego, NY) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Overall, this is very attractive to go with the "stainless steel" look. the only complaint is that the 208 degrees setting can't be correct - not really 208, more like 175-180. But this aside, it serves its purpose and is relatively cheaper than most at this capacity. We've had this for a couple of weeks and so far so good.
