Great Product June 24, 2010 TW I don't know what all the problems people are having with this kettle. First of all, why do you need to get it dry? I've had this almost a year, use it several times/day. I always keep a little water in it and I have no spots of any kind in it. Second, you can't run the kettle without the filter in place or it won't shut off, which is stated in the info given with the kettle. It doesn't leak and it isn't cheap plastic. The only potential negatives are that it needs the filter to work properly and is a little loud.
How can I review a product that doesn't work? April 13, 2010 B. Little (Natick, MA USA) We got this as a wedding gift, and it arrived non-functioning. After 2 weeks, customer service has done nothing for me yet and we now have a nicely designed, poorly made hunk of plastic sitting on the counter. Perhaps after another week of back and forth with the manufacturer, it can be an over-priced addition to our recycle bin.
Faulty Kalorik Kettles March 15, 2010 S. Jenkinson (OH USA) I had a total of 3 of these Kalorik kettles all of which did not turn off, rather, if left unattended would boil dry.
There is definitely a serial defect with this model. In all fairness the dealer did without any problem replace the first 2 kettles. I still have a kettle which does not turn itself off automatically. The fault is squarely with kalorik, who are still selling this potentially dangerous product.
contemporary teakettle March 14, 2010 Reader in DC (Wash, DC) This tea kettle looks great, particularly in a modern open kitchen. However, it fails short on function.. I have had mine only a month or so and already it is starting to rust on the inside of the kettle. And the lid does not close tight, so water comes out of it while you are pouring. Good look, but just not well designed... there is more silver colored plastic trim and parts than I expected. And you really cannot ever get it totally dry inside.
It boils water February 24, 2010 Julia Adolt (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Yes it boils water, but....
the spout has an annoying filter which prevents full flowing water - I had to pop the filter out.
the auto shut-off is not working on mine which is a safety issue
it feels heavy in your hand, not an ergonomic design
this one has a very limited lifespan in my kitchen, it will be meeting the trash can soon.
