Product Description Includes Edgecraft 6750001 Edgecraft Chefs Choice Cordless Electric Hot Pot.
Amazon.com Review Perfect for making coffee, tea, soup, and hot chocolate at home, in the office, or in the dorm room, this 1,500-watt pot brings 1-3/4 quarts of water to a boil more quickly than a stove or microwave oven. It lifts off its power base for cordless pouring. Made of 18/10 stainless steel with a matte-finish, black plastic lid, handle, and bottom, the handsome pot is polished to a mirror finish on the outside and has a brushed-finish interior that's seamless for easy cleaning. For safety the pot shuts off automatically when water reaches boiling or if it boils dry, and the hinged lid opens only when a button on the roomy, stay-cool handle is pressed. A gauge displays the water level and a light shows when the pot is operating. To prevent, say, tea bags from plopping out, the lid's indentation at the pouring spout contains sieve-holes. Measuring 6-1/4 inches in diameter and 8 inches high, the pot has a cord-wrap in the power base and carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

A few quirks July 11, 2010 Kari O. (Minneapolis, Minnesota) I've had this hotpot for at least 5 years. The chrome and black is attractive and it heats water very quickly. However, I have 2 problems with it:
1) When you try to pour, instead of coming out in a manageable stream, the water pours in the middle and dribbles on each side, creating a mess. I think it is caused by the interaction of the lid and the spout. I get around it by popping open the lid slightly before I pour, and that does the trick.
2) The auto-off feature stopped working reliably about a year ago. It will boil dry if I don't keep an eye on it. It still works sometimes, but when it does it will be at a full boil for a good 30 seconds before it shuts off.
The Best Electric Kettle at any Price! March 21, 2010 AZMIKE (USA) There are cheaper ones and there are more expensive ones, but this is the one you need to buy. It has the largest opening so you can access the inside for cleaning and--Boiled eggs, thanks Alton Brown for the tip!-- and no plastic exposed to high heat. We use every day and strongly recommend!
4 Years, Still works, mostly. Potential hazard! March 8, 2010 rlbcomputer (Hopkinton, MA) This CHEF'S CHOICE INTERNATIONAL HOT POT MODEL 675 is a pretty good hot pot, providing you use it when you can watch it. I would only boil water in it, because food will get into the water gauge on the side. There is not way to clean it. Over the years there has been a slight black discoloration on the bottom inside the pot over the heating element. Like the other reviewers reports, this does boil water fast.
This has daily use and has worked well. Some water does spill if you pour too fast. The major problem is the automatic shut off when the water boils does not work. Luckily I've has not had it boil all the water out. I have has to cleanup several boil-overs.
CAUTION!! DO NOT USE THIS UNIT UNATTENDED! I think there is a potential fire hazard if this is left unattended and all the water boils out.
DO NOT BUY February 2, 2010 Valerie Blank-jaquith (crested butte, co) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It worked well for about 6 months, then the on/off switch started to go out. 4 months later it does not work at all. Dont waste your money.
Works, but seems dangerous December 25, 2009 Alastair Mayo 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pros:
Heats water quickly, easy to clean.
Cons:
Mine doesn't always turn off when the water boils. It will sometimes sit on the counter heating the water to the point that it causes the kettle to shake around. I wouldn't feel confident turning it on and walking away for 10 minutes. As it boils, steam can escape from the hinge at the back of the lid. I've burned myself twice because of this. I was hoping it would be a single piece all-metal container, but there's a plastic connector to the water meter on the back.
